How To Use ToolWorks

ToolWorks allows users to track, maintain, and report on tool inventory from anywhere, at any time. This guide will walk you through step-by-step actions for effectively utilizing and getting maximum value from ToolWorks.

How to Add Tools:

Mobile

  1. Navigate to Tools tab and click Add, Click on top right corner.
  2. Snap Photo of tool you want to add, AI driven vision will process the photo and generate tool details. Tool Details are shown to verify / edit
  3. Click Add to save the new tool

Desktop

  1. Navigate to Tools tab [shift-t] and click Add Tool.
  2. Select or drag and drop image of tool you want to add, AI driven vision will process the photo and generate tool details. Tool Details are shown to verify / edit
  3. Click Add to save the new tool

Desktop - Alternate

  1. Navigate to Tools tab [shift-t] and click Add Tool and click Add Manually.
  2. Enter tool name, barcode and optionally other details as required.
  3. Click Add to save the new tool

How to Assign Tools to user

Mobile

  1. Navigate to Scan tab.
  2. Scan tools that you want to assign and then click Cart icon in top right corner.
  3. Select Assign, enter user and click Checkout to assign tool custody to user.

Desktop/Mobile

  1. Navigate to Tools tab
  2. Find tool and click Add To Cart, for each required tool
  3. In the Cart, click Assign, enter user and click Checkout to assign tool custody to user.

Note: depending on configuration, user receiving tools may have to accept tools.

How to Check-In tools

Mobile

  1. Navigate to Scan tab
  2. Scan tools that you want to check-in
  3. In the cart, click Check-In, enter user and click Check In to return tools

Desktop/Mobile

  1. Navigate to Tools tab
  2. Find tools to check-in and click Check In (->]) for each tool you want to check-in.
  3. In the cart, click Check In, enter user and click Check In to return tools.

How to Request Tools from field

Desktop/Mobile

  1. Navigate to Tools tab. [shift-t]
  2. Find tools and click Add To Cart
  3. In the cart, click Request, and click Create to create tool request.

How to Fulfill Request from field

  1. Navigate to Checkout tab [shift-c]
  2. Open Pending Requests and gather requested Tools.
  3. Click Ready to let user know tools are ready for pick
  4. When user pickups tools, click Check Out to mark request as completed.

How to Transfer Tools to another store

Mobile

  1. Navigate to Scan tab
  2. Scan tools that you want to transfer and then click Cart icon in top right corner
  3. In the cart, click Transfer, enter store details and click Create to transfer tool to another store

Desktop/Mobile

  1. Navigate to Tools tab
  2. Find Tool and click Add To Cart, for all tools that need to be transferred
  3. In Cart, click Transfer, enter store details and click Create to transfer tool to another store. If configured, you can also click Transfer to auto transfer tools (without requiring acceptance).

Note: depending on configuration, store receiving tools may have to accept tool transfer

How to Request Transfer of Tools from receiving store

  1. Navigate to Tools tab and select Desired Store to transfer out from.
  2. Find tools and click Add to Cart
  3. From Cart, click Transfer and then click Create . If store supports Scan And Go, transfer is completed (just pick up tools), alternatively you will get notification once tools are ready to be transferred.

How to Fulfill Store Transfer Request

  1. Navigate to Store Transfers
  2. Find and select Pending Request
  3. Gather requested tools and click Ready

Note: This will notify requesting store staff that tools are ready to be transferred. Once transfer is done, they can Accept tools.

How to Accept Transfer Request

  1. Navigate to Store Transfers
  2. Find and select Ready Request
  3. Click Accept
